EXT. New York Central Park Near Poets Walk 2008
On screen we hear: Breathless by Dan Wilson
We tour the night skyline of New York flying over the plaza and into the
miasma hazed central park. We end up narrowing in on a group of girls from
the city that are playing with their shadows in the cities lights making them
look 100 feet tall.
INT. A park bench on a path off poets walk
We glimpse at a young white collar couple sitting on a bench nearby in a
heated argument. Body movements show the expression. The guy gets up and
lights up a cigarette. He blows smoke into her appearance. The girl
admittedly reacts by getting up knocking her purse over that was on her lap
unto the ground. ASHLEY WARTEN looks at him grabs the cigarette and breaks
it. He grabs her left arm. ASHLEY hits him with her right palm across the
chin as he stumbles into the bench tripping and hitting his head on a rock.
Her reaction is a howling roar as ASHLEY moves to wear he lay.
Glancing around ASHLEY kneels next to him trying to lift him up. ASHLEY lets
go and her hands cover her eyes as she bows down to his chest.
Ext. Shadows of central park.
The group of girls in street clothes playing with there shadows suddenly
stops. LAUREN BITTLE looks around at the others and starts running to see
what happened.
The others look at each other and follow.
LAUREN gets their and sees ASHLEY kneeling beside her boy friend.
The music stops
Int. Poets walk
A tree shadow hangs over the two girls as the body lay in-between the light
and the shadow. The white shirt is now stained on one side of the collar
turning it red.
LAUREN
Good morrow sir what sorrow do you confer
for the night is cold and your story
you still haven’t told.
Int.
The four other girls, KERRIAN ALEXANDER, BETH PASCEL, STACY GOLDMAN, and BEBE
QUINN, reach LAUREN who is standing above the girl beside her dead boy
friend. LAUREN begins to kneel down only to see that there is blood on the
ground and she steps over the body next to ASHLEY kneeling by her boyfriend
and she kneels down next to her.
LAUREN takes off the long sleeve shirt tied around her waist and gives it to
ASHLEY.
ASHLEY looks to her left brushes her cheeks with her hands sees LAUREN
kneeling out of the shadow of the tree and looks up at the other four girls
standing in the shadow of the tree.
ASHELY
Here lay what he did to me.
Today is over and tomorrow is coming.
We are already apart of history.
KERRIAN
Come on!
Lets get out of here before we get in trouble.
LAUREN
Shut up!
LAUREN turns to ASHELY and asks
LAUREN
You coming with us?
Even angels have teeth.
ASHLEY stands up and picks up her purse.
ASHLEY
This is my ex boyfriend we met in the street yesterday.
I hadn’t seen him in a year and since then we have been
going together. I thought it would get better.
She throws her pursue over her shoulder uses the long sleeve shirt to wipe her
tears smiles and says
ASHLEY
I am not getting in trouble for murder.
ASHLEY screams in shock
Ahhhhh! Good bye my secret lover.
KERRIAN
Tomorrow shall see the sun
And tonight the moon will see all
Today, the waits lingers through the trees,

EXT. Walking out of poets walk
The six girls leave the body laying in the trees shadow. They turn tp the
path and walk down poets walk leading out of the park.
INT. Bench at the edge of the park
At the edge of the park BEN HARPER OR LEONARD COHEN makes a cameo playing
‘aint no sunshine’ or ’the road to hell’ on the guitar at the edge of the park
or under a street light. The girls walk by him.
INT. The Street
The girls plunge into the street KERRIAN and BEBE walk ahead while ASHLEY and
LAUREN stay in the middle talking. BETH and STACEY walk slowly smoking a
joint passing it between KERRIAN and BEBE who keep turning around to listen
and interrupt while they stay smoking.
The cars and taxi’s roll by them as they continue walking towards STACY’S
apartment
ASHLEY
How long the sun hides from the path
What calls for who am I to this
Or what I am to that
Does it linger through the abyss
LAUREN
You killed and you must know every living being has
only one life to show.
STACEY
You fucking poets. Are you going to hit this.
What’s your name? I’m Stacey and that is Lauren.
LAUREN

That is Bebe, Kerrian, and Beth
ASHLEY
Hi, I am Ashley
KERRIAN

ASHLEY

KERRIAN laughs that it didn’t faze her takes a hit of the joint walks
backwards.

BETH

INT. Middle of the street
ASHLEY runs into the middle of the street as cars wiz by her upset about the
night. She starts signing as cars pass her and she makes a fist yelling at
the drivers.
The girls try to chase her down but she stays walking ahead and traffic blocks
them.
ASHLEY
I once
was young
and now
im old
I walk
along
the brick
road
Will I ever find my way
And find a place where I can stay
I walked passed god who cried to me
I walked through dreams that I could see
Now im walking all the time
Walking along the paved line

KERRIAN is the first to get to her in the middle of the street as she recites

KERRIAN
What the fuck are you doing?
ASHLEY embraces KERRIAN
KERRIAN
You can stay with us?
Don’t you have a place to stay?
ASHLEY
Thou as pure as heavens door,
which now contains the life of one more.
KERRIAN
Do you need a place or what?
ASHLEY
I can stay the night.
LAUREN looks at the girls who couldn’t get into the road because of traffic
and fear and says.
LAUREN
Life contains not a selection or a game,
But a love for the players who are not the same.
KEERIAN yells from the middle of the road,
KERRIAN
We are getting food and then staying at your place Stacey.
They get a break in traffic and run back to the side walk.
BETH
Where did you go? Was it something I said?
ASHLEY
No,
ASHLEY leans over to BETH
ASHLEY
I killed someone tonight
BETH looks up and smiles.
STACEY looks at ASHLEY winks and grabs her hand.
STACEY
Fill me with knowledge for food is merely waste

EXT. Diner
Sitting in a booth the six girls have ordered and all our eating there food.
They sit around the table talking.
BEBE
What would you do having one day left on this planet?
Where would you go Ashley?
ASHLEY
Why don’t I feel bad that I killed someone?
KERRIAN
I would go to the Caribbean.
ASHELY
No way me two!
BEBE notices the last couple left the diner and it is early morning. She
slides under the table from between KERRIAN and BETH and stands at the front
of the table puts her hands on the table and recites in an expressive act.
BEBE
Gun inside the world of love from here to very more.
Such human touch the foot to watch,
The golden key shall assure.
Dreams with fire chasing onward shadows
Gardens full, of forbidden fruit.
Whilst, nightmares ice the passing sun,
The world of bad to good.
Thus, creatures emerge dancing on toes
Such, virgins penetrate the humans birth.
Whereto, the seventh day gave power,
To such, trunks and asses, mindless worth.
The girls begin applauding as then ASHLEY follows the lead of the others and
claps.
They hear the waiter applauding and begin to laugh. BEBE turns to him and
tries to seduce him running her hands through her hair.
WAITER
Galaxies seem like chocolate
Milky ways with caramel
Universes we can cover with a thumb
As earth is merely a parallel
The girls admittedly start applauding and the waiter takes a bow as all the
change and order pad falls out of his apron. They begin laughing and BEBE
runs over to him to help pick it all up. As she is on the floor she leans
over seductively and all the girls behind her start laughing because how they
are behind her. She then moves her body down and you see her cleavage from
the waiters perspective picking up the change and the note pad.
BEBE hands the waiter the pen and the note pad and writes down a number that
she thought of off the top of her head.
LAUREN begins to recite poetry. She begins speaking to BEBE. When she says
through spirits of the lusting mantis stares at ASHLEY.
LAUREN
Above reckless undiscovered in use
With sun’s rays masquerading from fates decline
Thy soft mind ever twinkling to fuse
How souls release the ever growing time
Hath a love ever been written upon the canvas
Stories passed through the ailing ear
Through spirits of the lusting mantis
For the faiths to listen and hear
KERRIAN
Now listen you speakers to the one who knows you well
We all know there are something’s we should never tell
BEBE
Ashley killed someone and nobody is suppose to know.
The waiter begins to laugh as KERRIAN stares at BEBE. STACEY begins to laugh
then LAUREN BETH ASHLEY and finally KERRIAN giggles.
The waiter looks at the girls as he carries the expression that they were
still in the act.
INT. CASHIER
ASHLEY thinks quick and walks over to the cashier to pay for the meal. As she
reaches the cashier a cop siren roles buy the diner and she gets nervous
jumps. The cashier looks puzzled and she responds.
ASHLEY
We smoked a joint. How much do I owe you?
The cashier starts laughing again.
WAITER
Thirty eight dollars and sixty three cents.
She hands over two twenty dollar bills and receives a dollar thirty seven in
return. They get up and leave.
They head to the door and ASHLEY holds it open.
EXT. Outside the diner
When they exit they stand on the side of the road and now ASHLEY begins
getting excited that the waiter didn’t believe the murder. ASHLEY begins
singing
ASHLEY
Your all sheep and I’m the wolf

them as they stroll to STACY’S apartment.
ASHLEY looks down at the ground as she walks with STACEY’S arm over her
shoulder.
EXT. Apartment all entering
The camera moves up from the girls walking on the street and soars over the
city in a circle circling them as they get to an apartment.
STACY takes out her key and opens the door. BEBE is the first to get into the
apartment and immediately takes off her shirt revealing her bra. BETH turns to
ASHLEY
BETH
This is where I live. Me and
Stacy are sisters.
STACY
We all usually sleep together in two rooms.
We have blankets pillows and
BEBE interrupts and grabs ASHLEY
BEBE
You may say that you control the talk of the town
But I’m the one whose after you and I got the crowd

ASHLEY gets upset suddenly and yells

We took a stroll, my heart he stole
the second time around.
We sought a place, inside this town
and thought things would be different… it wasn’t.
ASHLEY pauses
ASHLEY
We spent the day doing nothing more then the sex
after the fight. We woke up and it was fine we had
three meals and it ended in walk at night.
He told me the truth, he was honest about everything.
I got mad when he told me he was cheating, the

We got up I should have went down
Instead of knocking him out.
ASHLEY gets a sadistic smirk that crosses her face and BETH starts laughing.

on the couch and her shirt over both her knees.
